S - Learning Outcome 5
Over the weekend I signed up to go help with the garage sale at the Bissonnet campus of the Post Oak School from 6-8 in morning to help with set up before it opened. I had a lot of fun doing this and I ended up staying until 4 in the afternoon which was a bit longer than I had planned on staying. I had a great time helping people who were shopping there to carry thing to their car as a lot of people bought large toy sets and car seats for their kids. I had a lot of fun and was able to have fun conversations with some people while helping them to their cars which for were parked all over the neighborhood because of the limited parking along the street. However people eventually started bringing their cars into the driveway and putting the stuff in there so they wouldn't have to carry it all over. I was working with Andreas as the people who helped people to their cars and helped with any other odds and ends that were happening around. I am glad I stayed as long as I did because of how smoothly it made everything flow, once me and my partner got into our groove we were able to efficiently get everything done and I think it would have been a lot more difficult for Andreas to do it alone if I had left in the morning. We had a system with helping people which made it easier to get everything done like grabbing boxes and bags for people who were carrying a lot of things, and then helping to try and play Tetris to fit everything into their cars. Overall we made a good team and I had a lot of fun, it was better than sitting at home all day.
