A - Learning Outcome 6

This past week Houston experienced a cold storm that cause most of the city to lose power and water at one point or another. Obviously lack of water and power is a global problem, and experiencing for a multitude of days really changed my perspective on this problem and how people are experiencing it for most of their lives around the world. Not having power was a big problem because it was super cold outside and the temperature slowly leaked into the house because we didn't have any heaters, and soon the house was almost as cold as outside. Also not having power made it super dark and it was weird having all the candles in my house lit up ominously, providing far less warmth than I had hoped. On top of that we didn't have water so I couldn't wash my hands or brush my teeth. Another thing that I had to do was go drive on the icy roads to my grandparents house because they also lost power and water so we brought them to our house so we could take care of them. This is anoth...

C - Learning Outcome 5

Last week I collaborated on a painting with my friend. I made sketches and drew out the sketch of the artwork and then passed it on to my friend to paint. This was a really fun little project, I am glad that we did it together because I am not the best painter, but I am relatively proud of my sketching skills. Drawing has always been super fun but I never color in any of my drawings because I think they always turn out worse than they were beforehand. Working together with someone who I consider very good at painting turned out really great because we both got to utilize our skill sets to create something that would have been a lot harder for either one of us to create alone. I might want to do more art with my friend because we made a good piece together and I think that our collaboration was a really smart move because two heads and hands are better than one.

A - Learning Outcome 1

This weekend I had tutoring for SAT Prep and I went over some things I hadn't quite learned before. I learned about basic trigonometry which I had gone over before but never officially learned about until then. It was pretty difficult at first but I got the hang of it relatively quickly and ended up enjoying it after a bit. The real challenge was Geometry however. I had never learned how to calculate for arcs and sectors of a circle and I didn't know the equations so that was a challenge to learn. Learning this skill was difficult but I am overall happy about the progress that I made in learning about how to solve this new type of equation, especially since it is important for taking the SAT that I have coming up. I definitely still need more work though, and I am definitely finding out about all sorts of math rules and equations I need to expand my knowledge on.
